About me

Yang, Chan-Rong

I’m a Taiwanese Product / UX Designer based in Slovakia, with five years of experience across e-commerce, internal systems and customer-facing products.

Before moving into product design, I worked across customer service, arts and administrative roles. These experiences taught me to notice where processes become confusing, how systems affect people, and what kind of support they need.

With a background in Advertising and Art Education, I bring analytical thinking, visual sensitivity and curiosity about culture into my work.

What shapes my perspective

Experiences inside and outside design influence how I understand people, systems and unfamiliar problems.

How service shaped my design approach

Before moving into product design, I worked across customer service, arts and administrative roles. Seeing people navigate unclear processes and unexpected problems taught me to listen carefully, identify unmet needs and look beyond the immediate interface.

These experiences continue to shape how I approach complex products with empathy, structured analysis and attention to what happens when a system does not work as expected.

Curiosity beyond the screen

Outside product design, I explore art, culture, nature and craft. I hike and climb, learn about wild mushrooms and herbs, and practise weaving and bobbin lace.

I also read and write about how culture, history and emerging technologies, including AI, shape people’s behaviour.

These interests keep me observant, help me see connections across different contexts and bring fresh perspectives back into my work.

Selected writing

A selection of articles and interviews on art, craft and culture, originally published across Taiwan’s magazine and Chinese-language cultural platforms
